We have started the new year with a very successful Ladies Luncheon fundraiser. Thanks to all the volunteers that made it happen and to all who attended. Our next fundraiser will be the 6th Annual NSHS Golf Tournament on August 3 at Crown Park Golf Club. Please mark this date on your calendar.
Volunteers from the community:
Thanks to the Elks Lodge for purchasing food for several Veteran families moving into their own home. Dave Straka “shopped” Walmart with the grocery lists!!
Missions BBQ has served Veteran residents several times and it was truly been a treat. They not only bring the food to the shelter, but serve and talk with the Veterans. One of our youngest residents was really impressed with the Missions BBQ giant truck since he was able to sit in the drivers seat!!
Child Care:
On rainy days the staff has to be creative to keep the children occupied….would love to have a volunteer help that loves children.
VETERANS CORNER
We housed 54 veterans in 2018. Some returned home to family and some found work and housing. Please keep them in your prayers!
In closing, we feel incredibly blessed. Thank you for all that you do for our community. We have recently had one of our pickup trucks broadsided. No one was hurt but the vehicle was totaled and now we must find resources to replace the truck. Please keep all areas of the shelter in your prayers.
